First Tee — Greater Tyler Woldert Park Facility

Our plan…

Woldert Park Facility will be used to conduct First Tee Camps and Classes.  These will be offered to Tyler ISD students as well as other students in the community.  Our goal is to see at least 100 students go through the 2021 summer and fall programs. Coaches trained by our Program Director, Starlia Skinner, will interact with the students teaching them the basics of golf and basic social life skills.  Our coaches build relationships and many times turn into mentors for the youth that enter our programs. The facility can be used by Tyler ISD for its First Tee School Program by providing an open space to conduct the courses and paving an avenue for students to visit a golf facility. Teaching life skills and healthy habits to youth in our community will have an impact for years to come and the Woldert Park Facility will play an important role in reaching these students and their families.

Our mission…

To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

Through generous donations from the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, Women's Fund of Smith County, and other wonderful donors, we are able to hold our grand opening for the facility on July 17, 2021.
