Meet Brady

He is a vivacious 8 year old who is already at the Par level and has done so through perseverance against an obstacle named metaphyseal dysplasia of the bones.  This is a disease in which the outer part of the shafts of long bones is thinner than normal and there is an increased chance of fractures.  It is characterized by short stature and abnormally short arms and legs and bowed legs.

Brady and his family travel an hour from Nacogdoches to Bullard each Saturday during programs for Brady to attend classes.  Brady's dad says that this is a "fun family outing." And not only has Brady made new friends, but so has the rest of the family which shows that the programs at The First Tee of Greater Tyler reach beyond just the participant.  The ripple effect is evident in families and communities.

Brady first came to a golf clinic held at Oak Hurst Golf Course in Bullard and after that first clinic he was ready for classes at The First Tee of Greater Tyler.  He favorite part is "chipping onto the green and playing scrambles with friends."  His parents say he uses his core values he has learned at The First Tee and they see that "he's turning out to be a well rounded gentleman."
